MOTORWAY 13: A COMPREHENSIVE SIGNALISATION SYSTEM

RIJKSWEG 13: EEN UITGEBREID VERKEERSSIGNALERINGSSYSTEEM

The traffic signal netowrk to be applied on Motorway No. 13 between Rotterdam and the Hague will be the most complete of a series of highways to be introduced in the Netherlands for the purpose of better traffic control. The design has not yet been definitely fixed, however, since the knowledge presently available is not sufficient, particularly as regards automatic accident detection. The system on Motorway 13 will control traffic by the simple signalization principle and aid in the development, introduction and evaluation of more advanced systems. This will relate to ramp metering as well as automatic accident detection. /TRRL/
