ROAD ACCIDENTS INVOLVING SCHOOL CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS. PROCEEDINGS - 11TH WORLD CONGRESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR ACCIDENT AND TRAFFIC MEDICINE, DUBROVNIK, 24-28 MAY 1988
This paper discusses the causes of pedestrian injuries and fatalities in traffic accidents during a ten-year period in rijeka. Drivers caused 54% of traffic accidents due to exceeding speed limit 55% and due to overtaking 25%. Pedestrians caused 46% of traffic accidents, out of which 41% was due to disregard pedestrian crossings, 18% due to running out and 16% due to playing on a street.
