PENETRATION TESTING IN GLACIAL TILL. PENETRATION TESTING IN THE UK. PROCEEDINGS OF THE GEOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE INSTITUTION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS AND HELD IN BIRMINGHAM ON 6-8 JULY 1988
As part of the site investigation for the UK NIREX Ltd Nuclear Waste Disposal Site at South Killingholme, Dutch Cone Penetrometer techniques were employed to detect thin sandy horizons within an essentially clay glacial till. Trials of temperature, conductivity and seismic cones were run simultaneously with piezo-friction cones.(A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 828222.
