ALTIMETRIC TRANSITION CURVES OF PARABOLIC PROGRESSION
RACCORDI ALTIMETRICI STRADALI AD ANDAMENTO PARABOLICO
This article discusses the problem of linking new road projects to existing highways, with particular reference to the design of vertical curves when there is an altimetric difference between the levels of the new and existing roads. Tables and graphs are presented for use in the design of parabolic vertical transition curves. Some parabola equations are developed, and two working examples are given of the use of the tables and graphs. /TRRL/
