FATIGUE AT THE WHEEL

With reference to a typical accident, the significance of fatigue as one of the causes of errors on the road is discussed. The author makes a detailed examination of the capacity of the human and the question of fatigue or overtiredness. The total effects of the most important causes of fatigue are illustrated diagrammatically. The consequences for the case of the overtired driver are indicated, and stress laid on the importance of a driver recognizing the first signs of fatigue. /TRRL/
