POLYMER CONCRETE SPEEDS REPAIRS
This very brief article describes a quick way to repair spalled, cracked, or damaged concrete. Penatron, a new polymer concrete material, comes in pre-measured kits that can be hand mixed or machine dispensed. Since no heating is required, the material can be used from -10 to 150 degrees F. Fast-set time is 5 to 7 minutes and drive-over time is 30 minutes. The material meets clean air standards and has passed cold weather tests conducted in Colorado in December of 1989. Only a few steps are required to make repairs with Penatron: chip away loose concrete; blow away dust and place rock in the hole; pour Penatron mixture over rock and fill to grade. A cardboard trowel is included in the kit for smoothing edges and working the polymer into the concrete.
