EDUCATION - A CHALLENGE IN THE 1990S
This is the report of an interview with Dr R.M. Koerner of the Geosynthetic Research Institute, Drexel University, Philadelphia. It is noted that it is the responsibility of the engineer who uses geosynthetics to keep up with changing technology in the industry. The resources available to address this include conferences, symposia, short courses, and journals, as well as manufacturers seminars. The question of the limited number of colleges and universities teaching geosynthetic courses is noted. Outreach to all persons involved in the technology is most important.
