PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS OF THE ECOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF DEEP PORT CREATION AND SUPERSHIP OPERATION
The report summarizes in a general, preliminary manner current knowledge regarding the probable ecological impacts of supership operations and deep port development. It describes briefly types and dimensions of port facilities (ship dimensions, key operating requirements and the probable ecological impacts of facilities and operations). It also outlines basic information required for prediction of ecological impacts. Seven major research problems are identified to meet current information deficiencies. (Author)
