NEW CONCEPT IN POLE LIGHTING
Through the use of a new light transmission film and special lens reflectors, engineers have desinged an outdoor pole light that has the bulb at ground level in the base, yet emits more usable light from the top of the pole. The technology is expected to have great potential from both a practical and economic standpoint. A light bulb at the base will make maintenance easier. Because the system distributes light in a more precise pattern than conventional fixtures, fewer poles will be required. The optical lighting which is the key to the new technology is decribed. This technology has potential in a variety of applications including streets, highways, bridges, tunnels, parking lots, and other commercial and industrial settings.
