WATER CONTENT-DENSITY CRITERIA FOR COMPACTED SOIL LINERS
A method for establishing criteria for water contents and dry units weights is discussed. The criteria currently in use are reviewed, and the recommended procedures are described. A case history illustrating the suggested procedure is presented. The proposed procedure is based primarily on hydraulic conductivity considerations. In this procedure, soils are compacted over a range in water content using 3 compactive efforts that represent the maximum, typical, and minimum compactive effort expected in the field.
