FULL-DEPTH RECYCLING CURES PARKING LOT ILLS
The article describes how parking lots in suburban Cleveland were given full-depth treatment as surfaces were pulverized, compacted, and resurfaced. Two parking lots and connecting roadways totaling about 40,000 sq yards were rehabilitated. The details of the project are briefly summarized. A bright future is predicted for parking lot in-place (full-depth) recycling. The techinique has been used for lots adjoining hospitals, public schools, and for sections of shopping centers. It is considered a viable alternative to removal/replacement, and could lead to savings from 15 to 35%.
