EAST CENTRAL IOWA TRANSIT - REGION 10 TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN, FY 1982-86

The transit development planning process for Iowa's regional and small-urban areas is designed to promote transit planning programs that further the development of the state's public transportation systems. This document, the Region 10 Transit Development Plan (TDP), is a five-year plan that addresses the transit needs of the six individual county transit systems that comprise the East Central Iowa Transit system: Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington counties. The TDP evaluates currently available transit services, assesses the transportation needs of the region, reviews recent developments, outlines future developmental strategies, and provides recommendations for policy direction. The transit development plan is a needed short-range planning tool and long-range guide for programming. The plan is intended as an operating tool for transit managers, local policy board members, and interested citizens. The TDP serves as a vital instrument for more efficiently coordinating transportation services within region 10.
