OPTIONS. A STUDY OF TRANSPORT FOR THE DISABLED IN WALTHAM FOREST IN 1986. VOLUME AND APPENDICES
This report describes an action research study undertaken in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in 1986. The study was commissioned by the Greater London Association for Disabled People, and funded by the Department of Transport. The report presents a picture of the services available to handicapped, compared with non-handicapped transport users; the problems of service providers; and areas of unmet need. It outlines the interaction of statutory and non-statutory transport providers during the study period as they were brought together to examine ways in which the services available to transport handicapped people might be improved. The results of a 28 day travel diary provide further evidence of the effects of transport handicap on the lifestyles and options of people in the borough.
