FRACTURE ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL MEMBERS-STRAIN ENERGY DENSITY FACTOR CRITERION
Examples of nonalignment of load and crack position and prediction of allowable load and/or flaw size of a pressurized thin-walled vessel are given. Strain energy density theory was used to investigate the crack propagation modes. The problem of carck extension in a combined modes. The problem of crack extension in a combined direction has been discussed.
