The purpose of the conference was to explore technologies for future transportation, their implication and consequences for mobility, economic competitiveness and quality of life. By focusing attention on the long-range planning and funding of an integrated transportation system, the goal was to build a consensus on transportation issues and solutions that involve the use of advanced technology.
