HIGHWAY ACCIDENT REPORT--COLLAPSE OF THE HARRISON ROAD BRIDGE SPANS, MIAMITOWN, OHIO, MAY 26, 1989
This report explains the collapse of a section of a temporary bridge over the Great Miami River in Miamitown, Ohio, on May 26, 1989. The safety issues discussed in the report are temporary and permanent bridge design and procedures for closing temporary and permanent bridges. Safety recommendations addressing these issues were made to the Hamilton County (Ohio) Engineer's Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and the United States Geological Survey.
