PERMANENT BRIDGE DECK REPAIR
This article summarizes the discussions and recommendations of the interim report, "Evaluation of Portland Cement Concrete for Permanent Bridge Deck Repair". The effect of chloride in reinforced concrete; the chloride content corrosion threshold; suggestions for determining the concrete that must be removed prior to repair; the use of a rotary hammer to obtain portland cement concrete samples for chloride analyses; and the wet chemical analysis procedure for total chloride developed by the Federal Highway Administration are summarized.
