COORDINATION: CHECK LISTS FOR SUCCESS
The Lancaster Integrated Specialized Transportation System (LISTS) in Pennsylvania is an example of how coordination of transit services through transportation brokerage can be a successful alternative. Although there are some drawbacks such as lack of control over the quality of service, having to impose a 15 percent surchage onto the bills of its human service agencies and not having a modern, computerized ticketng system, LISTS coordinates service for more than 60 human service agencies with 320,000 trips annually.
