LAUDA LICENCE MEANS COMPETITION AT LAST
Austria's two predominant carriers, Austrian Airlines (AUA) and independent Lauda Air, have differing opinions as to the effects of Lauda's being granted the right to apply for routes worldwide. Austrian Airlines sees this right as an open invitation for competition between the two for choice routes while Lauda thinks that there is room for both lines to enjoy prosperity. The two airlines began discussions to allay fears as soon as the license was granted to Lauda.
