DOUBLE-YIELD-SURFACE MODEL. II: IMPLEMENTATION AND VERIFICATION
This paper demonstrates the predictive capability of a recently developed constitutive model for the stress-strain-time behavior of cohesive soils that employs two yield surfaces, the modified Cam-clay ellipsoid, and the Von Mises cylider inscribed in the ellipsoid. In this paper, the results of numerical simulations are compared to laboratory and field test data to validate the computer program and demonstrate the improved predictive capability of the present constitutive model over a previous model employing the modified Cam-clay yield surface alone (Borja and Kavazankian 1985).
