DEMANDS ON RAIL TRAVELING ALUMINUM TRAINS FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT
FORDERUNGEN AN ALUMINIUM-SCHIENENFAHRZEUGE AUS DER SICHT DES VERKEHRSBETRIEBES
Large scale use of aluminum trains contributes to a reduction of energy consumption and of wear of the track. Consideration of the economics of using aluminum trains leads to suggestions for reducing costs by changes in design and methods of production. Some of the cars of the German Federal Railway now in service are discussed.
