COMPUTERS JOIN THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM

Newly-adopted computer technology is allowing Pulice Construction Inc., Phoenix, Arizona, to bid on about 150 jobs a year, more than four times the number of jobs it could compete for previously. The $85 million company works in earthmoving, utilities and pipes, paving, and in structural concrete for bridges, culverts and retaining walls. This article describes the estimating system BidPro (Estimark Corp., Phoenix, Arizona) that is being used by Pulice. It was designed especially for the heavy and highway construction industry.
