SAFETY BELTS...BE SURE YOU'RE USING THEM CORRECTLY
Many of those who buckle up don't do it correctly. Safety belts can do their job best only if there is no slack in the belt. The belt should fit comfortably, but snugly, across your lap and chest. The lap belt should ride low on your hips, and the shoulder belt should fit snugly across your shoulder and chest with no slack. A belt worn with the shoulder strap tucked under the arm not only offers no upper body protection, but is dangerous as it can cause injuries to ribs and internal organs in an accident and may not keep you from hitting the steering wheel or windshield.
