STRAIGHTENING UP AT CERAINO
A joint venture project for Ceraino in northern Italy will begin with a 4073m-long by 3.95m diameter pilot tunnel which will then be expanded in order to increase the capacity of the railway lines by making existing routes straighter with smaller gradients, and larger modern tunnels in places, so that traffic speeds and freight car sizes can be increased.
