SOVIETS TO BUY HIGH-SPEED TRAIN
USSR has ordered a magnetically levitated, high-speed linear motor train from HSST (Japan) to link Moscow and Sheremetyevo International Airport. Completion: 1996. The computer-controled train will take passengers to the airport in 15 minutes versus the current 2 hours. HSST will provide the train and the U-shaped guideway system, and the USSR will complete the engineering work and lay the rails.
