TENSILE STRENGTH OF ROCK BY THE DOUBLE-PUNCH METHOD
Details are given of a new method, the double-punch method, for determining the tensile strength of rock. The preparation of the samples together with the test procedure are described, an a comparison is made between the tensile strength obtained by the double-punch method and by splitting tensile test on a cylindrical sample (diametral compression). /TRRL/
