TRAFFIC EQUILIBRIUM MODELS
VERKEERSKUNDIGE EVENWICHTSMODELLEN
A number of equilibrium models, namely an assignment model and an assignment model in combination with distribution models are presented. These models are developed while applying the hypotheses of wardrop. These hypotheses are only a partial description of the actual routing behavior. They cannot be applied for the development of the distribution model without additional hypotheses. The so-called supply function is also given. An essential objection against the application of the current models is that they premise the capacity of the road network to be a given quantity. The traffic streams on heavily trafficked road networks become dependent on this quantity. The models concerned cannot give an answer to questions about improvements of the motor netowrk. /TRRL/
