EARTH-MOIST CONSISTENCY CONCRETE. MEASUREMENT OF CONSISTENCY AND PREPARATION OF TEST SPECIMENS

A method for measuring consistency and preparing tests specimens of very stiff concrete is devised. When measuring the consistency the disc of the vebe apparatus is loaded with weights. The relation between the vebe number, seconds, established in this way and the vebe number obtained in the oridinary way is shown. When test specimens are prepared the surface of the concrete is loaded while being vibrated on the vebe table. Vibration is continued four times as much as the time recorded when taking the consistency of the concrete.
