A DETERMINISTIC FATIGUE ANALYSIS FOR OFFSHORE PLATFORMS
As platforms are placed in deeper water, they will exhibit dynamic amplification of wave-induced response. The resulting dynamic loads will have a significant effect on the cyclic stresses used in a fatigue analysis. In this paper, an algorithm is developed for addressing the problems of dynamic response and fatigue. A multidegree-of-freedom, lumped-mass mathematical model is used to represent the structure, and finite-length, synthetic-wave profiles are used to represent various sea states making up a given location's environment. An example platform is analyzed. (AUTHOR)
