CHOOSE WELL YOUR COATS

This article deals mainly with tank coatings for products carriers, which are principally engaged in the transport of refined oil products. A discussion of the various types of coatings which are available, and the specific types of refined products to which they are corrosion resistant, is given, and the coatings discussed vary fron zinc-silicate and epoxy-phenolic to polyurethane. Steel preparation prior to actual coating is also discussed, as are the correct procedures, in general, in applying any coating.
