CARGO VALVE CONTROL
This article discusses two principal concepts in the area of hydraulic cargo valve controls for products tankers, and these include deck mounted actuator types and submerged actuator types. Criteria which must be considered in designing these control systems are discussed, and among them are frequency of operation, characteristics of the cargo carried, and cargo integrity. The hydraulic piping and couplings, the valve control and indication systems, and the hydraulic control systems are also discussed in the article.
