PROPULSOR MAY INCREASE EFFICIENCY, LOWER COSTS
This article describes how the use of a shrouded rotating propeller, installed on a VLCC, may reduce vibration, while at the same time increasing maneuverability and propulsive efficiency. The author explains how these three related problems can be solved by using a shrouded propeller, and the fuel savings which can be realized through the use of this type of propulsion equipment.
