A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR PREDICTING THE NOISE OF FREELY FLOWING TRAFFIC
An approach for predicting the noise of freely flowing traffic based on a mathematical model is described. The vehicles are considered as points travelling in a free space at constant speed and spaced at equal intervals. The sources are classified within classes of different sound power, in accord with statistical real conditions. Several traffic conditions are simulated by varying some parameters; good agreement is obtained between the results from the assumed model and experimental data. (A) /TRRL/
