THE BENEFITS AND COSTS OF RIDESHARING TO EMPLOYERS: SURVEY FINDINGS
This report describes the preliminary findings of the first phase of a study of the benefits and costs of employer-based ridesharing programs in southern California. A mail survey of Commuter Computer client companies was conducted in early 1985 to determine ridesharing program characteristics, cost estimates, tracking techniques, and management perceptions of ridesharing benefits to employers. The results of this benefit/cost survey provide the primary focus of this report. Of 863 surveys mailed to Commuter Computer clients, 432 (50%) were returned. A copy of the 12-page questionnaire is included in this report as Appendix B.
