IMPROVEMENT IN THE EFFICIENCY OF DUST COLLECTORS IN ASPHALTIC CONCRETE MIXING PLANTS

The author describes modifications made to a new dedusting installation in a bituminous mixing plant, which was equipped with a special fan, a 400 mm-diameter breather, A group of 400 mm-diameter cyclones, and a screw conveyor. The fan rotating at 1100 revolutions per minute was not efficient and the arrangement of the blades was unsatisfactory. A new fan was installed, which rotated at 1500 revolutions per minute, with differently placed blades, and the position of the cyclones was also changed. The results obtained were most satisfactory. /TRRL/
