RHEOLOGY OF LOW-TEMPERATURE BITUMEN IN ARGENTINA
REOLOGIA DE ASFALTOS ARGENTINOS A BAJA TEMPERATURA
Details are given of a method of calculating the elastic parameters defining the rheological behaviour of bitumens used in surfacings. The method consists in applying A constant load to a bitumen sample so as to cause deformations; the latter are recorded as a function of time. The test is conducted at 0 degrees c. By using the data obtained and successive approximations, it is possible to calculate the viscoelastic parameters and the modulus of elasticity. Some of the tests were carried out on asphalt which had been aged for 75 minutes at 173 degrees c (rolling thin film technique).
