GENERAL THEORY OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE MOISTURE CONTENT ON COMPACTION RESULTS
THEORIE GENERALE DE L'INFLUENCE DE LA TENEUR LES RESULTATS DU COMPACTAGE
Using the basic law on the behaviour of fluids (mariotte law, pascal theorem), the laplace law on suction and the ideas of caquot on the theorem of corresponding states, the author presents a theory of the variation in cohesion of soil as a function of its moisture content. It is shown how it is possible to forecast the shape of the proctor curve and the modifications of this shape, which occur with some types of soil and compaction equipment. /TRRL/
