THE USE OF A BETATRON IN THE X-RAY OF ENGINEERING STRUCTURES

UTILISATION D'UN BETATRON DANS LA RADIOGRAPHIE DES OURVRAGES D'ART

This article summarizes the use of the betatron pmb-6 in the x-ray of engineering structures. Details are given of the main laboratory experiments carried out on typical concrete samples and on materials such as Anchorage devices for suspension bridges and cables. The betatron pmb-6 is described in detail together with its performance. Data are presented on the experimental studies conducted in-situ and on the types of protective devices to use against radioactivity. It is hoped to use the results of this study to optimize the operation of the device. /TRRL/
