DETERMINATION OF VENTILATION FLOW
FIJACION DE CAUDALES DE VENTILACION
Details are given of the calculation of transverse ventilation systems for tunnels. The method consists of using three corrective coefficients for the height, length and gradient of the tunnel. Studies are conducted of the traffic capacity of the tunnel section, the traffic being divided into delivery vans, lorries, medium-sized lorries, heavy lorries, very heavy lorries, and private cars. The calculation method is standardized and presented in tabulated form. As an example, the ventilation of the guadarrama tunnel is calculated for a one-way traffic system. Comments are made on the possibility of using longitudinal ventilation according to the sacardo system, air injection system or the helical ventilation system. Mention is also made of natural ventilation and its limitations. /TRRL/
