INCREASE IN THE QUALITY OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES CONTAINING SOFT LIMESTONE

POVYSHENIE KACHESTVA BITUMOMINERAL'NYKH MATERIALOV IZ SLABYKH IZVESTNYAKOV

The authors give the opinion that it is possible to use soft limestone in bituminous mixtures if water repellents are used (bitumen of sg category and surface active agent of an anionic type), gravel content does not exceed 35%, and the filler content reaches 15 to 18%. Manufacture and laying do not present any difficulty if pneumatic-tyred rollers are used for compaction. /TRRL/
