TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES OF USING 50/60 ASPHALTIC MORTAR
VENTAJAS TECNICAS Y ECONOMICAS EN EL USO DE CEMENTO-ASFALTO 50/60
The author recalls that the most important factor in the proportioning of bituminous binders is the determination of the optimum bitumen content, which is related to the nature of the aggregate. The use of viscous bitumen facilitates the proportioning of bituminous mixtures by using a lower filler percentage, the stability remaining the same. The reduction in filler is an important saving. It is recommended not to use more than 6% of limestone filler in bitumen of 50-60 penetration, if sand contains 15 to 22% fines passing through a 200 sieve. /TRRL/
