TAR AND THE ROAD IN 1972
EL ALQUITRAN Y LA CARRETERA EN 1972.
The author gives an accurate definition of coal tar and describes its qualities as a binder used in road construction. Various possible additives are reviewed, which are susceptible to improve the qualities of tar, and mention is made of possible chemical reactions. A study is presented of modified tars, such as bitumen-tar mixtures, pitch-bitumen mixtures, epoxy resin-tar mixtures, vinyl-tar and styrene-tar mixtures. The present use of each mixture is defined and its future application discussed. /TRRL/
