APPLICATION OF THE ALL-PURPOSE TRAFFIC PROCESSOR
A microprocessor has been developed for use both in and outdoors for different levels of traffic control, such as isolated intersections, sub-areas and areas. A detailed description is given of the all purpose traffic controller 86 AD 190 which handles complex multiphase intersections up to 32 signal groups in different modes of operation. As a master controller 87 AD 146, the system performs coordination and supervision of a number of intersections in a sub-area. On area level the 83 AD 147 version of this system supervises and monitors a number of master controllers and their associated local controllers in different sub-areas. /TRRL/
