CONTROL OF THE THICKNESS OF BITUMINOUS LAYERS BY DIRECT MEASUREMENT
CONTROL DE ESPESORES DE CARPETAS ASFALTICAS POR MEDICION DIRECTA
Non-destructive methods of controlling the thickness of bituminous layers permit an increased number of control operations and therefore enable more real tolerance limit values to be obtained. Up to the present time, acoustic, nuclear and electrical methods have been developed. Details are given in this paper of a direct method of determining thicknessses by measuring the downward movement of a layer of sand placed on top of a bituminous layer before compaction. The number of the covering abstract of the annual meeting is 100980. /TRRL/
