A BOILER MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN OF AUTOMATIC COMBUSTION CONTROL
In order to improve the operating characteristics of their main propulsion boilers, a Swedish boiler manufacturer has initiated its own design of automatic control system, and this system is described. The development of this automatic control system was aimed to establish simple and practical limits of responsibility between the shipyard and the system supplier, and to optimize the control system and the boiler together. The system description includes the burner management system, the boiler automatic control, the engine room console, shop tests which were performed on the system, and operational experience with the unit.
