A NEW CONCEPT IN SINGLE POINT BUOY MOORING
This article describes a new type of single point mooring buoy. Disadvantages of existing single point mooring buoys are given, and the concept behind the development of the new system, which allows the buoy to absorb energy internally while remaining an effective static structure, is described in detail. Design criteria for the new buoy system are discussed, and applications other than that of a mooring buoy are also given.
