FERROLUBRICANTS: NEW APPLICATIONS
This article presents a brief description of ferrolubricants, which are basically a combination of a ferrofluid and a lubricating fluid. The theory behind the development of this lubricant is discussed, and the fluid itself is briefly described. Data from testing as to the merits of ferrolubricants are given, and application limits are also discussed, including certain disadvantages of this fluid.
