NUISANCES CAUSED BY NOISE: MEASUREMENT, INTERPRETATION AND ELIMINATION

GELUIDSHINDER. METEN INTERPRETEREN, VERBETEREN

The authors start by recalling certain basic notions and measuring situations. The analysis of signals picked up can be carried out by different means and should result in the detection of the noise source. When noise abatement is not possible or is too expensive, use of noise-absorbing walls is advocated. Finally, the article gives a few simple and practical rules for reducing noise.
