TOWARD A NATIONAL OCEAN POLICY: 1976 AND BEYOND

The report, supported by NSF's Research Applied to National Needs (RANN) program, analyzes results of the 1975 Geneva session of the United Nations Law of the Sea Conference and presents alternative treaty outcomes in the forthcoming Law of the Sea Negotiations. It also outlines options for U.S. ocean policymakers in fields such as national security, commercial navigation, marine environment, fisheries, mineral resources and scientific research.
