ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF SHIP ROUTING

The Meteorological Office's system for weather routeing ships throughout the world, based on wind speed and wave height readings. Actual examples are quoted to show how vessels, special tows and offshore rigs have been routed to prevent storm damage and save fuel.
